New AM Oldies station in Cincinnati?

WBOB AM 1160 has been sold by Salem to Christian Broadcasting, but there've been rumors about an LMA and a mainstream format. The FCC has reserved the WDJO call letters for 1160 (licensed to Florence, KY). WDJO was the city's original Oldies station on AM 1230 from 1985 to 1990.

On top of that, the domain www.oldies1160.com has been registered to a broadcasting company based in Cincinnati. According to Network Solutions, the record for that domain was created on December 27, 2005. That web site has a message that says "Coming Soon."

Do the signs point in that direction or am I the victim of a sham?

By the way, Christian Broadcasting also bought Salem's WTSJ which has been a Christian station here for about 30 years. They;re changing their calls to WCVX.

WDJO 1160 is on the air as of 12:00AM this morning playing 10,000 songs in a row with no commercials so far. It sounds automated and I would guess they will be picking up True Oldies from the birdin the near future.

It will not be True Oldies. It will be programmed locally with a local staff. Some you may guess correctly and some that will surprise you.

Good Luck and Heavy Sookie to all...
