New am station in Ramona

Liscense approved today, and it's not for Activist San Diego. It's for S.D. County to operate a temporary, itinerant 1610 Travelers Info station on
1610khz. Considering the strapped budget of our county, why would they spend $17,000+ on something like this?

It's not? I should have run for mayor when Roger was being raked over the coals.

Being an elected official is a license to steal!! In the words of the late great Dr. Dave, while he was talking to Roger himself..."Shouldnt you be eating prison food"??

Actually I like Roger, he was interesting to talk to.

An hour stomping around the County Oprerations center got me to the bottom of what appeared to be another TIS with usless, repeating messages, i.e., 1610 & 1620. The "Fire Safety Council" was formed in Ramona after the horrible fire that swept thru the area in 2007. It has plans
to be put in place if any disaster strikes in the area again. The licensed TIS is part of a larger saftey plan. The TIS is a trailer mount mobile unit,
currently stored at a water district facility. It's use would be to broadcast evacuation routes, emergency center locations, and for animal owners,
places to safely leave their animals . The funding came from a federal grant for emergency service preparedness. A good use of the funds, I
would say.
