New Bert Show TV Ad--Like It Or Not?

Pretty standard stuff, but I thought they could at least have given Bert a tiny box to stand on so that everyone else isn't towering over him.
 
A little confusing...are the dancers supposed to be listeners, interns, groupies, what? Holding up pieces of paper w/names on them screamed low budget operation to me, but I'm not a big fan of commercials in general, so there's an instant bias. Won't really affect my listening habits.
 
I saw it last night and actually Tivo'ed back through it. I think it's great. And I didn't think it looked low budget at all.
 
Ray worked for me in Charlotte. He was just getting into radio, working part-time.

Back then I kept telling him..
Light, tight, bright and to the point! Keep your talk to a minimum. I don't know what happened. But you are right..WAY TOO MUCH TALK.
 
Saw it again this morning and figured they must be trying to get a whole "Friends" vibe going. It helps that everyone in the ad is really really really white. :D
 
theres more then 1 commercial. they just showed 2 different ones almost back to back on channel 2.
y would they spend the money on q100 if they r trying to make rock 100 so popular? all i see r billboards for trg not tv.
just saying thats what i would do. but i wouldnt of killed 99x so what do i know rite.

You really don't hget it do you? Roclk100.5 is secondary to Q100 that is why it was moved to the more powerful stick. Sure they want to grow Rock 100.5 and realize that based on the first book TRG should turn into a cash cow also for them but their efforts are going to be more focused on Q100 putting it's foot to the throat of Star 94.

u should be nervous.
they put them on the little signal. they arent advertising them. i bet in a year they make it oldies for brent.

As someone not in the radio business who lurks here I thought I'd toss my opinion out there as someone they may be trying to reach.

I think the commercial looks fine but I didn't really get the vibe they were going for at the end. I mean they all flip their papers and it says "The Bert Show..." but I didn't get why they were all cracking up. That part was odd to me. I didn't think the production looked bad at all and the music was fine. I thought it was fine until the end really.
 
'cause at the end they all turn their cards except for Bert, cause he's Bert of The Bert Show!! Hahahaha!! Wasn't that great?!?!? Whew!! I'm going to take a nap now.....
 
I guess that was it. I didn't even really pick up on that. It's a solid commercial I suppose.

Also my wife said, "That's Bert?" when she saw it. I don't know if that's the reaction they were looking for or not.
 
There's quite a few Bert videos on Youtube. The car alarm video is pretty decent. It would be nice to see the new Bert ads, if someone
doesn't mind the effort.
