New Blues 93.1 WIIN (780AM)

WIIN is IDing as Blues 93.1 at the top of the hour. No mention at all of AM 780, even though the AM signal covers way more area than the 55 watt FM translator which can only be picked up for a few miles from north Jackson. They are currently playing all christmas music. A fairly limited selection of the same tunes over and over. Incidently, one Southern Soul song somehow wound up in the playlist called "Fly on the Wall" by Keisa Brown. WIIN was all blues several years ago and play some pretty good blues, but the station was put on autopilot and they rarely updated their music or did maintenance and suffered from lots of dead air and poor audio, plus having only one channel of audio which they still do the last time I checked.

Also WSFZ ran different music a few days ago, with everything the from the Carpenters to classic rock with a few singer songwriters and country mixed in. A pretty cool train wreck selection of hits. Lasted a few hours then switched back to the simulcast of 93.5 the Legend country. Only the AM was operating, no translator. I've heard them do this before so I assume someone was doing some sort of maintenance. Signal is no where near as good as it was in the 70's.
