New Bone Morning Show

They're really building this one up. I heard the countdown with 6 days remaining yesterday afternoon. In my opinion, the bone is sounding a lot like KZPS. Does anyone know anything about who might be doing the morning show?

It's called the "DFW Has-Been's." Any duo who was run out of the market before is eligible. Gene and Julie will host the first week; Lex and Terry the following. Expect future appearances by John Boy and Billy, Bob and Tom, Walton and Johnson, Stevens and Pruitt, JB and Sandy, Tommy and the Beamer, Ken and Barb, Dave and Suzanne, and the long-awaited reunion of Rose Wright and (recently deposed) Billy Hayes.Note to Gordon: this is sarcasm.

Ya forgot Wally and Leon

So with Music sucking equally, the only contest will be ... everything elase BUT the Music.... the Contests, the "Morning Show", etc etc etcDALLAS HAS NO "ROCK" STATIONS WORTH LISTENING TO --- FOR THE MUSIC !!!!!THE CLASSIC ROCK FORMAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ANYONE THAT DISDAINS "TOP 40"WHAT A WASTELAND FOR GREAT ROCK THIS DFW MARKET AS BECOME ! !The Masses have spoken...... and they want a "McDonald's" Menu of Rock......We all know the "people" whose main diet of food is "McDonalds"......Same with a "Classic Rock" diet..... They are NO Musical value....

So Here's the Top 10 for KDBN from YES.COM.....NO SURPRISES HERE:FOXEY LADYREBEL YELLPHOTOGRAPHFANTASYMISSISSIPPI QUEENEVEN FLOWFREE-FOR-ALLMORE THAN A FEELINGWON'T GET FOOLED AGAINLike I said.... NO SURPRISES, just Pure Homogenized and over-played "Classic Rock".....BUSINESS AS USUAL
I dunno, that Top 10 actually looks like a pretty decent hours-worth of music. Here's something for you elitist music-freaks to get thru yer skulls: radio is a MASS-APPEAL MEDIUM! Trying to please as many folks as possible at the same time. Which means NOT catering to the fringes of the audience by playing that "really bitchin'" Molly Hatchet album cut or whatever random crap you personally want to hear just for the sake of playing something that's not "homogenized". See, for some reason, advertisers are trying to reach as many people as possible, not you and your 2 drunk buddies who that it'd be really neat to hear something random on the radio. There's a reason all those songs have stood the test of time and become the foundation of classic rock: most rock listeners like them!Besides, homogenization isn't necessarily a bad thing... it keeps milk from making you sick!

Well, I don't consider those like me that want to hear something other than the "Most Popular" Hits, random "crap"..... And as for Drunk buddies.... that's exactly who The BOne hopes they are reaching..... as many drunks as possible. The aurwave are for the benfit of the public. I am the public, and I DO NOT benefit from what advertisers have decided is what gets played on FM Rock Radio..... I believe that's called Play-for-Pay.... and last I looked, that's illegal for Busniesses to do.....But that's defacto what we have, and that SUCKS. Yes THERE is so music with a message .... besides what souless corporations would pick for us.I'm nowhere as eclectic as you think..... I just am not so musically challenged, that I need to hear the VERY same songs, over and over, to feel comfortable.Thinks MTV and it's diversity of acts and music, before Big Business bought it and decided that what the masses really want is just Madonna, Sting, and Maria C.....America desperately needs some music for the masses that could actually lift them up, and not keep tham in the Corprations rut......JUst look at what Big Buniess did to MTV.....Good for the Stockholders...... and Nothing ELSE...You just don't get it..... Mass Appeal is UGLY... Not Beautiful......

so... you're saying that getting the most people to listen isn't the objective?

Idealistic much? Time to take off teh tie dye, put down the patchouli oil and realize that it's a new century. And radio is a buisness. And realize, that advertisers don't decide what gets played, PD's (and consultants) do, so you're pay for play argument loses all credibility. Not like you had much to begin with, but hey...And as I commented the other day- if you're hearing the same songs too much, you're probably listening too much. And if you were programming a station (since I think your comments prove that you've never actually had to program a station, and therefore are just making comments from the peanut gallery) would you program it for the guy that listens less than an hour a day (the market average) or the radio freak that listens 8-10 hours a day? Peeps like you that bitch about "mass appeal" crack me up. Ever think that there's a reason that Wal MArt is the biggest retailer? McDonald's the biggest resturant, etc etc? If they're so ugly, why are they so popular? Because most people, unlike you, don't care about what you perceive to be ugliness- they just want inexpensive stuff, quick food, etc etc...
