Yesterday saw the debut of a new AM talker in Boston, 1510 WUFC, with a lineup I'd love to see more of around the country. The angle is libertarian, but with sports, hot talk, and Alex Jones for good measure.
6am - 9am: The Dr. K Show - caught the beginning of a replay of this at midnight last night, and it sounds like if Beck was doing mornings on a classic hits station. More upbeat, less doom & gloom, but the host is laying the hokey radio voice on WAY too hard.
9am - 12pm: The Glenn Beck Program - probably the best chance of getting a wide array of listeners when pulling from the Limbaugh pack, skewing way younger than the rest (I'm guessing).
12pm - 3pm: Jay Mohr Sports - a big name who can handle a sports-oriented show and be funny. Another name (like Beck) than any talk newcomer should be clamoring for
3pm - 6pm: The Dennis Miller Show - same vein as Mohr- quality blend of humor and politics. Again, another name that any talk newcomer should be clamoring for.
6pm - 9pm: JT "THE BRICK" - sports show syndication. Makes sense for the timeslot, and keeps the momentum of the mix of shows on the station, as opposed to Republitalk 24/7.
9pm - MID: Bob Levy - Yes, of Kidd Chris, O&A and Stern infamy, The Reverend Bob Levy with a cohost whose name he can't pronounce, is scheduled to destroy the English language nightly. Crass and vulgar as expected, perfect for the timeslot
MID - 1am: CFR - I believe these are two members of the morning show, with the letters standing for "Cluster F*ck Radio". Didn't hear it last night, likely similar to the preceding program (Free FM-ish). Appropriate for the timeslot.
1am - 5am: The Alex Jones Show - Batsh*t insanity, and another name any talk newcomer should be clamoring for, even if they bury it in overnights.
5am - 6am: Wolfman Jack
To me, this is a WELCOME breath of fresh air for the format, and I wish we had something similar here.
