I had typed a response to this... but seriously... anyone who knows Steve knows he is not me... or is it I am not him? Either way... “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”
No, you're certainly not the Steve I knew in person. You're the other guy, the one who behaves the way he does under the mantle of Internet anonymity. It happens quite a lot, probably to a lot of people you know. Fancy universities have done studies and all. I'm sure Fo-fo-fo-hye is not the person Roula thought she knew, either, or Wendy, or Dave, or Cody, or any of the other former building departures he's trashed, or before that, the KLOL listeners he's spent his online career viciously abusing. Who would admit to being this poster in real life?
Nevertheless, it's a simple process of elimination. Congrats to Fixx for being the last man standing.
Okay, Zenfight! Actually, my sweetie and I were laughing about this in the garden last week. We probably actually owe you, Fo-fo, a thank you for making everything about my life completely better. Back in 2005, we'd been talking about moving in together sometime in the vague future, but when you posted your attack on me that very first day, he got pissed off and started gathering boxes. He's right, you know. He does make enough money that I never have to work for jerks like you again. So, you really do have my appreciation.
As for holding on to my anger? I'll always be angry that those who settle for PPM's coveted 10th place---behind The Point, for Chrissakes---are the ones who keep following the same stale formula. I confess, it'll always peeve me to no end to see a loyal listener try to ask the pros a legitimate question and get kicked in the teeth for his trouble. Yeah, I guess I'm not finished being angry about that. Nevertheless, how you want to treat your former listeners has a lot to do with the joy I've found in interactive media, so you see? Anybody who knows me---in person, or on the Internet---knows it's a piece of cake for me to turn a frown upside down. But again, thanks for the wise Bhudda thing, it was a cute attempt.
