The WNOW calls have moved to 92.3 NOW-FM in New York City. Old School 105.3 in Charlotte is now WOSF.

I saw that the other day and coulda sworn 105.3 had been WNOW. I even googled it to check it, and all I came up with was Now92.3 and the AM before I gave up.
Glad to know I wasn't crazy or something (at least on that account). :)

Interesting remixes.

"O.P.P." and "Da Butt" were two songs I heard where they seem to have inserted crowds responding. Trouble is, the crowds are actually so quiet if you don't have it turned up enough, it sounds ike the sound has gone completely out.

I thought Radio One should have kept the WNOW-FM calls. They could have put them on their Indianapolis station WNOU or some low performing station somewhere, I mean they have plenty! But I digress....WNOW-FM are valuable calls. I don't think anyone cares about call letters anymore though.

They were meaningless. They're right where they belong now.

They started out on an AM station which was Contemporary Christian. Once that station started going Spanish, they never looked back but kept those calls.

I found this on another section of this site.

Isaac Hayes once said, “There is no such thing as old school, there’s only school and either you are in it or your not.”

Raphel Saadiq is quoted as saying this: "Isaac Hayes once told me ... that there's no such thing as old-school. He said, 'You either went to school or you didn't.' I just follow great people. If you want to play like a pro, you learn from the pros."
