NEW CALLS FOR PARTY 105

JVC Media LLC continues to distance itself from TMO as Party 105 is now WPTY.

This certainly makes sense as the WDRE calls were Morey heritage calls and shows the new owners continued support of the Party format.

Whoa, you would think they would get back WXXP since it's still vacant. I know WPTY is also a TV station in Memphis.

It's probably part of the big makeover. Party 87.7 and 105.3

Rumor has it JVC will be leasing WNYZ and simulcasting Party. 101.5 becomes Tropical WBON.

If the 101.5 signal becomes Tropical, what will happen to the 96.9 signal that has been Tropical for a long time?

Can anyone answer that?

I believe that the 96.9 FM translator is not part of the equation. There is no mention of it in any of the pieces I've read. I'd assume that 96.9 FM (W245BA) Manorville, NY will maintain the simulcast of WBON-FM-98.5 Westhampton, NY's "La Nueva Fiesta" for the foreseeable future.

Of course this is subject to change, as the acquisition of Pulse 87's lease (Mega Media Group leasing from Island Broadcasting) by Party 105 (JVC Media LLC) is a developing story based on web articles & Facebook comments so far.

I think Party should keep broadcasting at 101.5. Who's gonna listen to Fiesta in Eastern Nassau? The 87.7 signal is kinda weak in eastern Nassau too. Then there's those folks with radios that stop at 87.9.
Unless they are going to tweak the power of 87.7?

I agree, they should just keep Party on 101.5. I can't see Fiesta having a larger audience, especially with so many other Spanish-language stations in range from NYC. Eastern Nassau doesn't really get 87.7 or 105.3 so this would fill in that gap in their coverage. Fiesta also has 96.9, which at least gives them coverage towards Western Suffolk.

ot sure what they could possibly do about improving 87.7's coverage.

I know to improve the 87.7 coverage in the Newark, NJ area, JVC should go after that Compact FM pirate on 87.9
