New calls for radio 1045

I just happened to be listening at both 11:00pm, and midnight. 11 was the last WUBA, and at midnight 1045 id as WRFF (Radio 10Four - Five)

Or maybe they plan on naming the station after a dog, and call it RuFF.

Given the recent history of the station from Sunny to 106.1 simulcast to Rumba to Radio 1045 in a year, it may stand for Radio Flip Flop (or Radio Format Flip).

Radio Flip Flop... Now that would make for a great satellite radio channel... With Jimmy Buffett as PD, that would definitely be worth $13 a month.

Since WUBA didn't make any money, it could mean We're Really F'ed Financially.

Jimmy Buffett already runs Radio Margaritaville on Sirius..... :)

Why don't they just use the overall slogan, "Wheel Of Formats."

"2004 called, they want their joke back"

The Democrats still have "their joke", John Kerry ;)

Whatever format is decided on, I hope it makes everyone happy and SNI ;D

Have a happy, safe, and SNI Memorial Day ;)

The new calls haven't become official yet, which is why you're hearing them in sweepers that are NOT at the top of the hour. The top of the hour ID still says WUBA. They're just getting the listeners acquainted with the new call letters.

The resurrected K-Rock in NYC is doing the same thing...they've got some sweepers that say "92.3 WXRK", but the top of the hour still says "WFNY-FM, New York".

In both cases, I believe the station is NOT saying their city of license after the new call letters, presumably to avoid getting in trouble for airing false legal IDs.

No, it was the the top of the hour. Exactly at midnight (and 11 for the last WUBA call), the city was included, and outside the top of the hour call, they did no other sweepers with the calls, just radio 104-5 sweepers.

WUBA is offically for 1480 now, the FCC already has it documented, altough, they still don't have WRFF up yet
