New Calls on 98.5 / Paris

WINH are the new calls on the "second country station in Terre Haute" formerly known as WACF.

Let's fire up the rumor mill...new calls usually herald other changes at a station.

As a former "Midwester," the only thing the calls brought to mind is that MWC has a "Win 98.5" country station in Michigan.

Might just be a name change with same format, for common branding between the stations, but who knows?

They sound do good, I'm sure they will garner a better share as country as they previously did as their former format, plug they will get the other buys when the big country station is sold out. So, its a good move.

Not to start a rumor, because I freely admit that I know very little about the company except for a couple of the local players, BUT I heard that theyve made overtures to at least one long-time staffer at THI. If that is true, it would seem that they plan to continue as a country station. FWIW...

I haven't noticed any other changes yet.

Anyone know if any of the "long time" staff is still there...i.e. Jim Blue and Rick Rhoades? They both had pretty popular shows on Sundays and it would be a shame if Key in their wisdom ran those guys off before they sold...and if Midwest dumped them.

/former WACF DJ...for a few months anyway
//Got out of there before Key could toss me
///Thought it was stupid that as part of my employment Key sent me the Corbin KY newspaper...like I cared.

Rhodes still has Classic Sunday nights, but I don't recall anyone by the name of Jim Blue. Well, I do, but he was 76 and died of lung cancer a few years back. Worked for IBM I think. 8)
