Erica Bowman, Doc Deason and Vicky Smith joined ERA Five Star Realty & Land Co. in Tyler.

Debbie Ezell, general manager, said Ms. Bowman will cover Van, Ben Wheeler and Tyler. Deason is starting a career in real estate after a decade as a meteorologist and television and radio personality.

Ms. Smith came to the real estate profession after a career as a high school teacher.

His "beat" will be whatever he can find to sell or buy for a commission.

Personally, I don't think the real estate business is an especially good career path these days. Unless he can move a lot of foreclosures.
