New CCM station in Indy

Hisair.net reports that Horizon Christian Fellowship of Indianapolis will be launching a new CCM/Teaching station in Indianapolis on June 15th. It will feature CCM music on morning and afternoon drives and other times as well. There will also be blocks of teaching times. They have hired Kurt Wallace, formerly of 93.9 The Song as PD and Morning Personality. He is leaving a CCM station in Cincinnati. The stations calls will be WHZN and will be known as 88.3 The Walk. Their web site is not yet functional, but should be shortly at www.883thewalk.org. It sounds from the press release that the station will be run locally and not as simply as Calvary Chapel network clone. I'm not sure about the policy of posting links on this board, but you can simply go to hisair.net or radioandrecords.com (under the CCM section) to read about it.

I hope this station will do very well and have wonderful success.

I'll be sure to keep them in my Prayers.

Best to them.... I fear, again (hate to think half-full), K-Love and HisAir are more 25-54 and 35-64 formats that will lean away from any outreach to the youthful Indy demos that are stuck on "Now-FM" and WHHR's "Hip-Hop" format.... 90% of Christian radio programs to 10 to 20% of the available Christian audience.. Thus, most Church goers do not relate to it......One format fits all does not work in a niche Church society....
