New CCM Station in Indy

Hisair.net reports that Horizon Christian Fellowship of Indianapolis will be launching a new CCM/Teaching station in Indianapolis on June 15th. It will feature CCM music on morning and afternoon drives and other times as well. There will also be blocks of teaching times. They have hired Kurt Wallace, formerly of 93.9 The Song as PD and Morning Personality. He is leaving a CCM station in Cincinnati, WAKW Star 93.3. The stations calls will be WHZN and will be known as 88.3 The Walk. Their web site is not yet functional, but should be shortly at www.883thewalk.org. It sounds from the press release that the station will be run locally with communcity involvement and not as simply a Calvary Chapel network clone. I'm not sure about the policy of posting links on this board, but you can simply go to hisair.net or radioandrecords.com (under the CCM section) to read about it.

Looks like they'll be on one of the towers down South in Trafalgar out back of WTTV/WTTS.

What kind of Indianapolis city coverage will that give them?

Its a highly directional B1 allotment from Trafalgar. It might have similar signal to WIKL 90.5 over Indy's south side. But I don't know in which direction the antenna will favor.

Great... yet another station that Mighty Frenchman with spend pages and pages complaining about how they're doing it all wrong [read: not doing it HIS way].

Being a Christian station, they ought to do it His way ;)

With Tony Silva and Bill Goodrich involved, Frenchman will have very few complaints.

Well there goes use of 88.3 and 88.5 as a part 15 signal.... Well.... Good luck guys,,, it is a format hole.. I hope 93.5 is safe or we may have to go online only.... We are legal Part 15 now,,, and no first adjacent interference. This is gonna knock our COMP Rhythm 88.5 off the dial.... HEHE...

...SO that's what Howie says???? I thought he was saying "Cheese-Us"....

I hear a Stereo Carrier on 88.3 & the rotatable antenna says it's coming from Trafalgar. Could sign on be imminent?

well their website is active i didnt check the listen live link to see if its running yet. but according to their weekday schedule besides Kurt Wallace from the Song doing Morning Drive, former Love 98 Afternooner Theresea Ross is doing Afternoons at 88.3. and they almost got a simillar plan of attack that Love 98 did in its last years, Music during drive times and Teaching during Midday and Evenings

and i wouldnt be able to get WHZN up here in Anderson due to our Little new K-Love full Power Station on 88.3 out of Muncie
The carrier is off now. What was the date they were going to sign on?

My K-Love baby on 88.3 has no backup power and power outages are pretty common. You'll eventually get a chance to hear WHZN...watch for bad weather to go through the Muncie area.

WHZN is on at 1:30PM Friday June 19...

Is the religious station out of Greenfield still on the air? If it's still on the air, how close is it to this newest one's frequency?
