New Channels for Time Warner Cable Subscribers

I live in Queens, so this may not apply for all Time Warner Subscribers:

Channel 162 is now WGN - Chicago
Channel 166 is Antenna TV

Bruce

166 is likely airing WPIX's 11.4 subchannel, as opposed to a national feed.

Do you remember what channels were previously on 162 and 166?

Saw a big advertisement on a phone booth in midtown Manhattan today touting the fact that WGN America is now available in New York on Channel 162, Time Warner Cable.

Time Warner in nearby NJ also added those channels... WGN America and Antenna TV, which I assume is the WPIX subchannel, since it's grouped with other subchannels, such as WABC's Live Well (which TW still calls Eyewitness News Now on its cable guide) and NY Non-Stop, WNBC's subchannel. I wonder why TW hasn't added This TV, another subchannel offering old TV shows and movies.

TW subscribers also got a couple of new channels a few months earlier: Wedding TV and New York Road & Rail. Maybe I'll never understand women but who'd want to watch a TV network about weddings? It seems the channel features mostly shows like Bridezillas from the We channel.

And New York Road & Rail is a 24 hour traffic channel. But it's not hosted. You have to watch a 2-3 minute loop of maps around New York City to see if the road you want is green, yellow or red. If it's red, it may tell you why in a brief blurb, such as an accident or a stalled truck. If you miss it, you have to wait till it comes around again. Every half hour or so, whatever person is doing traffic on NY-1 is heard doing a brief report on this channel, but most of the time there's just some busy traffic-like music playing and you have to find the roads you want by yourself. It's clearly not as good as Cablevision's Channel 61 traffic channel, where an anchor tells you the trouble spots and shows you live camera takes if they are available. Unlike Cablevision's traffic channel, this one has no ads yet.
