New CHR In Dallas - I-93

http://i93hits.com/ I-93 DALLAS-FT. WORTH http://live.cumulusstreaming.com/kdbn-fm 50 K

Looks like 106.1 Kiss FM now has a direct competitor in Cumulus-owned I-93.
So far they've played:
Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling"
Miley "Party In The USA"
Cobra Starship "Good Girls Gone Bad"
Sean Kingston "Fire Burning On The Dancefloor"
Taylor Swift "You Belong With Me"

Lots of Rhythmic/Pop and surprisingly very current-based so far, which is atypical of a Cumulus-owned CHR. Hope it stays this way.

Just after that...played:

Lady Gaga "Just Dance"
Kings Of Leon "Use Somebody"
Keri Hilson/Kanye West/Ne-Yo "Knock You Down"
Katy Perry "Waking Up In Vegas"
Drake "Best I Ever Had"
Jordin Sparks "Battlefield"
Pitbull "I Know You Want Me"
Pink "Please Don't Leave Me"

If Jan Jeffries is consulting, we will probably be hearing Rob Thomas "Her Diamonds" soon. So far, no "gold" records, but I imagine we won't hear much on the first day.

I was expecting something more like KRBE. So far, seems pretty straight up the middle CHR. Will be interested to see if they sound slightly different at night or not.

I'm wondering why these Cumulus stations even have PD's...Jan Jeffries calls all the shots from Atlanta, down to which sweepers play where.

PD's never "add" anything, you're mainly executing Jan's blurred vision of the format.

yawn. another cumulus cookie cutter chr. i heard this station before when i was in atlanta... or wait, was it houston... or maybe indy? i forget. take these stations off the chr panel... they influence the charts the same way full CC premium choice stations do (that were also removed from the panel... the only difference being a puppet PD in the cumulus buildings). i don't want anyone to fail, i really don't, but these cumulus and cc premium choice stations cant succeed for the sake of our industry. times are tough, but short term solutions are going to destroy radio long term.

whoops, got off on a rant. sorry. back to dfw......

this station is going up against heritage chr, with a heritage morning show that is programmed musically 110% to dfw. best of luck.

I actually like I-94 in Indy, and Hot 100 in blacksburg va,,, .... And these two stations are different as day and night.... And neither air billy..
