New CHR in FW

awesome... Its about time,,, hope they dont lean to adult like wmee or too rhythmic like wjfx 107.9.... it is a horrible signal though, its a 3w from 20 miles up the road in auburn, they tried being a dance chr for awhile, also simulcasted 94.1, and simulcasted the rock station on 96.3.... nothing worked.

102.3 goes CHR last night as Power 102.3.

Just read Indiana RadioWatch and they reported that "Their [Power's] STL frequency is very near to Russ Oasis' Rhythmic CHR/WJFX (107.9fm, New Haven)."

"...on occasion, when their carrier drops, audio from "Hot 107.9" is heard on 102.3fm."

I did a beautiful spit take after reading that.

I'll take Clueless Radio Operators for $100, Alex.

While no one was paying attention, they changed their name from "Power 102.3" to "The New Killer B, B102.3"

While no one was paying attention? That would be about all the time, wouldn't it? Haven't seen a thing from them...no boards, nothing on the streets...quiet. Compared to the original Killer B, just a phlash in the pan (pun sort of intended.)

They did a remote from a head shop (Twenty Past Four) today. Whomever the board operator was in the studio had less than no clue. He kept cutting Mojo off.

(I'm not opening either the "there's no problem with cutting Mojo off" or the "why did the board op pot Mojo up to begin with" cans of worms.)

And yes, there's a great pun in the parenthetical statement.

Do they have the signal to compete? I mean, if you've got a signal that's not on-par, you have to do something for the listener that they can't get anywhere else. Just playing the same music as HOT 1079 isn't going to work when their signal comes from the center of the market.
