New CHR in Memphis?

On Radioinsight.com they have news about 101.9 moving from Jonesboro to the Memphis area with a CHR format to take on Q107.5. Owners of Q107.5 are prepared to flip 96.1 FM to a simulcast of Q. Also the current Kiss FM Jonesboro will move to the 101.7 frequency. There are site registered from Clear Channel who own 101.9 with RadioNowMemphis.com 1019KissFM.com and Kiss1019fm.com. In addition, Flinn Broadcasting, who own 107.5 also registered their own sites for 101.9 as well as 96.1: RadioNowMemphis.com, 1019RadioNow.com, Kiss1019Memphis.com,1019KissFMMemphis.com, 1019KissFMRadio.com, 1019KissMemphis.com, Now1019.com,RadioNow1019.com,RadioNow1019.com. Flinn also registered 96.1 FM: 961theQ.com, 1075theQ.com,TheQMemphis.com.
I myself personally think that Flinn's not really that nice to CC. Wow I'm suprised! Q's not even doing well ratings wise!

Actually, Q-107.5 is enjoying some of their best ratings ever at the moment 12+ (and even better in their target demo). Keep in mind they're only 4000 watts strong, and there are some parts of the metro area people have a hard time picking them up. It's actually pretty impressive to see them beat out heritage Hot A/C (and onetime CHR) FM 100 WMC which is 100,000 watts strong. Also, the new 90s based Gen X is ranked much lower than the Q.
Q-107.5's call letters, WHBQ, are associated with another legendary CHR Memphis once had on the AM side of the dial.
Memphis is NOT an easy market to compete in, so if CC does decide to launch a CHR/Pop station there than they better bring their A game with them.

Actually, FM 100 is close to 300K watts! CHR has been a hard sell in Memphis, but it seems to have been working the last few years with Q107.5. We'll see how a CHR battle will work there.
