I'll definitely be listening if there's a stream as well! ;D There's a thread about bringing back local CCM radio on the Memphis thread. I'd love to see Memphis get something like this! ;D
I hope your format does well! I became a Christian in 1974 and was influenced greatly by Ron Salsbury & The J.C. Power Outlet who did an outdoor free concert at the college I attended. Many of the recordings from those days are no longer available or the production quality back then was very poor. How will you handle that?
My hope is that you can maybe see success with that whopper AM daytimer and look at LMA'ing something near Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa... Streaming will help your niche, as they can listen after sunset on the 'net'... Our LPFM has 60% of it's listener consumption on the 'net'..... The demo sounds like Way-Fm aka 1987 in Fort Myers/Naples.... It was 19 years ago in October that we signed on 88.7 in southwest Florida... Blessings and success to you! "Skipper T." eight years of Way-Fm from 1987 to 1995 (Florida and Tennessee)....
Nashville is a market where I could see this format working in a limited style on a little AM.
Sure, it wouldn't be a huge cume or ad dollar station.
The entity running it would have to believe in and program the music strictly from a mission standpoint. Because anyone who programs this format is obviously not looking for major ratings or dollars. If you play this music, it's because you love it and believe in it.
Hats off to Jack and his team up in Iowa. Jack's a good guy with the passion for the music and the ministry. It was my pleasure to work with Jack at KXOJ in Tulsa for about 3 years.
Closest thing I got to that "HOG" was the Honda 50 I kept at WCIL-FM... I would drive in from the next town and pull the bike out of the basement ramp and drive all over Carbondale, IL (College Town, USA) with my sales tie one and breaking over my neck against the wind....Rock 'n' Roll....
yeas but it still sounds awful. xm has a 64k stream that sounds better. sirius has a 24k stream that sounds better. that 96k is high pitched and makes my ears bleed.
