Yeah, I hadn't even noticed that WFNR (100.7) "Hot 100" had flipped. I went to stream them the other day and noticed that they were stunting with all Xmas and were set to flip to AC after the Holidays. That sucks. I actually really liked that station. They were one of the better sounding Cumulus CHR's because they were in a college town and didn't lean nearly as much to the adult/recurrent side as most Cumulus CHR's. Wonder why they didn't make it? Being in an area that's almost entirely college students, and with all of Cumulus's recent CHR flips, I wouldn't have thought they would bail on this one. I sure can't see where AC would be a better choice in the area. Sure, as a CHR they had to compete with heritage "K92" from Roanoke, but as an AC they will be up against "Q99", from Roanoke, which is even more popular. I've not looked at the ratings. Maybe they were tanking, but I'm surprised, because they actually sounded really good. Plus, with Virginia Tech in the same town, I would think CHR would do very well.
