NEW Coast 92.5 format not country...

Look for Coast 92.5 to reimage and go directly after 95SX.

All those hoping for classic country(I know I was) will be disappointed... Get ready for another station playing the same old thing that countless stations in Charleston are already doing...

I wish I had better things to say, but it is what it is.

I think you are right about 92.5 possible Churban leanings. If folks want more country they'll have to DRIVE somewhere else.

95SX Reacts

Happened to flip to 95SX about 10 minutes ago. Coming out of Let Me Hold You, Jennifer Vaughn comes on and says "It's the hot, new sound of 95SX." Barely 24 hours after 92.5 re-images as the "Hot, new B92." Not only is it ridiculous that they're trying to pass the same product that has been out for years (not that it's bad, just that it's the same) as hot and new, it's silly that they're trying to mimic B's moves so soon. They also just now are dumping all the flashback programming (Wayback Wednesday, 80's Cafe, Backtrax USA) on Sunny. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but this is CHR - it should have been done years ago, and I almost doubt they'd have taken that step had it not been for B launching yesterday.

Re: 95SX Reacts

From what i've noticed B 92 plays more urban than pop and SX plays more pop than urban.

Re: 95SX Reacts

Be that as it may, wouldn't 95SX be better served to just keep doing what they've been doing that keeps them as the #1 billed station in the market?

Are they THAT threatened by B92? Are they trying to weasel into the the "HOT" branding to get an extra Arbitron diary entry under their column, what?

It just seems silly for 95SX to jump the gun on this.

It's good to cover your flanks and all, but I'd wait until I've seen a threat begin to develop before I started any tactical manuvering.

(I've been watching way too many old war movies lately.)

Re: 100.5 Road Signs

100.5 has planted some signs along the roads saying 'Make The Switch', I guess 'The Drive' is now trying to get the listeners of Coast 92.5 to listen to them.

Re: 100.5 Road Signs

D'oh!

I thought those were for a real estate company.

(Pay no attention to the man driving obliviously in Charleston)
