According to an earlier poster on another thread they are switching to the new tower South of Dothan which should give greater building penetration (C3 ?) but limited coverage area. If so there will be some serious country "crap" goin' on in Dothan.

Hmmm they have had that CP for over a year and never did anything with it. To be honest I didn't think it would come about because of money.

Wow My Poor WLDA they have flipped that station around since they have had it.

Personally if they would have let me take it all the way Urban when I was there and let have KMX have the CHR

side. I believe WLDA "Wild 100" could have knocked the beat out as the number one urban.

Anyway sorry I digress personally I think if magic does that it will be to try to keep TRP from posting a new

country station or to try to protect TVY from the big Dog

someone help what is WLDA what number is it on the dial. i only listen to legends with Roy Fox

"Stupid is as Stupid does..."-Forest Gump

If Tragic flips this to country, I feel sorry for the listeners of the Wiregrass! What exactly are suppose to listen to besides country! Face it not everybody likes country. You got the legends, you the "new" country station, and then you have mix of country station. Plus I seriously doubt The Radio People would put on another country station. Its called a smoke screen.

WLDA (100.5) should have been left Oldies. That was the only time it actually had any listenership and revenue.

Quoting Your boy Shady-

"Personally if they would have let me take it all the way Urban when I was there and let have KMX have the CHR side. I believe WLDA "Wild 100" could have knocked the beat out as the number one urban."

Please wake up! WDBT is 11,500 watts, and Wild was/is 2,800 watts. WDBT has a much greater coverage area, and the coverage area of 100.5 just doesn't fit in the URban area. Putting CHR on kmx was and still is a mistake. Urban and CHR are pretty much the same thing. So it would have been Urban A/C and Urban? Just doesn't make smart business sense...but that company never did make any real sense...

You're kidding, right? There are urban songs that crossover to CHR playlists, but you almost never see CHR based acts do the opposite.

I would take a guess that about 80% of CHR acts are Urban artists. (Glance at the charts) Most of the true CHR acts are leaning away from that and heading more Hot A/C. To the people in Southeast LA (Lower Alabama), even Urban leaning means Urban.

Nate, (I think) you said that "I would take a guess that about 80% of CHR acts are Urban artists. (Glance at the charts)." So, I looked at the rolling chart as of today (The Top 20). I would say that your guess is not that good. ;)

1. Jesse McCartney
2. Katy Perry
3. Chris Brown
4. Rihanna
5. Metro Station
6. Natasha Bedingfield
7. Kardinal Offishall = Urban Artist
8. Kid Rock
9. Pussycat Dolls
10. Leona Lewis
11. Gavin Degraw
12. Ne-yo
13. 3 Doors Down
14. Jonas Brothers
15. Rihanna
16. Colbie O'Donis = Urban Artist
17. Lil Wayne = Urban Artist
18. Jordin Sparks
19. Coldplay
20. Danity Kane

Actually I said that. There are few artist on your list that are consider Urban. Might not be the song on the chart now, but are considered Urban leaning. (Chris Brown, Rihanna, Ne-Yo)

Ne-yo would be better classified as pop/r&b. Here is the current Urban (Top 20) chart.

Lil Wayne
Young Jeezey
The Dream
Rihanna
Jazmine
Keysha Cole
Chris Brown
David Banner
Rick Ross
Plies
Young Berg
Lloyd
Hot Stylz
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne
Robin Thicke
Mariah Carey
Usher
Alicia Keys

Chris Brown is an artist that does cross to Urban, but that song is not big at Urban - as a matter of fact, the label has not really worked it. Colby O'Donis didn't get worked to Urban. The only one is Lil Wayne...
