New Country station in Denver

CBS has flipped Urban Oldies KDJM/Denver to country "WILLIE" to take on powerhouse KYGO.

Well, I said it on here over two months ago. "Look for markets with one country station to get a second". Since then both Seattle and Denver have gotten a second (full signal) country station.

Smokescreen?

Here's an update. According to the R-I Denver board, this could be a smokescreen. The station could end up going talk as (one of several) "FREE FM". The irony is that they would probably do better as a country station, FM talk is a tough format to pull ratings, especially with lifestyle/"fluff" issues.

Re: Smokescreen?

Maybe this is indeed a stunt that will last until January 3rd.

Who can tell??

Re: I don't think this is a Smokescreen

I don't think this is a stunt. I think this is the new actual format because I heard they are hiring personalities. Plus they wanted to be ready for the Stock Show.
