New country station, Panama City

A country station is a country station unless it's a classic country station and it's not so it doesn't matter to anyone.

Find me one person that knows Fort Walton's WYZB Country 105.5 changed it's name to "the Wolf" several years ago. Jus sayin'.

..and still playing the same old crap.. "the wolf" hardly fits WYZB at all. I wonder how they are in the ratings?

On a more successful note, Naples' WAVE 101 is probably the top 10 or top 5 in their market. I enjoy it online but, would rather pick it up with a 12 element beam atop of an 80 foot tower aimed in that direction. Skip can be a wonderful thing.

That stick might call fir a strobey Rob. CCENGs probably got a couple hangin around that you can grab. Aspeakin of CCENG, does Powell seem to be making any other moves? Revenues (well, never mind that...any more commercial thingys playing on their channels Rob? Is the war on?

Just don't go too far out side ft walton. a 25KW signal will start to crap out in Gulf Breeze. How is WHWY doing?

BTW The problem with WABD's signal seems to have gone away. It was WHWY bleeding over top of it. Not sure if someone at the station was naughty or just natural causes. Now, 97.5's signal can boom once again down here.

We had to travel to Panama City on Saturday so heard about 3 hours. They've tightened up the playlist so that the currents are repeating more often. It was automated on Saturday.

I am glad to see that Melissa Miller is still working there, with a love to the midday slot.

After hearing both Hank and Kick'n, I liked Hank better.

Is PAP still the 10-ton elephant in the room as far as country is concerned?

Re the .tk TLD: I'd never heard of Tokelau till I ran across a site hosted on a .tk domain. These small islands tend to luck out in the TLD department: Tuvalu's happens to be .tv and attracts many sites dealing with television; Tonga has .to, and Samoa's .ws is peddled the same way as the .tk domain.

I think WPAP has been the top-ranked country station in PC for most of my life. I remember it as far back as the Elmer Rogers gospel program, Glenda Gayle, Captain Norm Miller and Rebe Reider!

Typo in earlier post: "love" should have been "move."
