New "Country" Station???

I see there's a new format at 101.7. It said it will be country featuring music from the sixties to now. In other words, this station will only be "PART-TIME COUNTRY"!

They are running the HANK-FM classic hits format, pretty much a country classic format. I have listened for awhile and its pretty much 70-80's with some 90's-early 2000's and very few "old" country classics although I did hear one Patsy Cline song this morning!

This is actually an old country station that has returned to its country roots. Licensed to Trenton, Florida, it was originally WCWB (Country Western Bluegrass), then WDJY and finally WDVH-FM before its brief incarnation of contemporay Christian formatted WPLL. It is now once again classic country WDVH-FM known as Hank FM.

Explain how it is "part-time country"

Explain how it is "part-time country"

Maybe DXDXDX only considers older country music from the '60s and '70s as real country with newer country music from the '80s, 90's and today as borderline rock, country oriented CHR, or anything other than real country, making Hank FM "part-time" country since, according the DXDXDX, WDVH will feature country music from the '60s through today.

Nothing "today" about the station. I suggest you take a listen.

You may want to re-read my comment for clarity. The original thread creator - DXDXDX - included "now" as part of his or her comment regarding the new format. The definition of "Now" means "current" or "today" as apposed to any other given time in history. I am simply quoting what DXDXDX included in his or her post which reads in part "...featuring music from the sixties to now" and 'In other words, this station will only be "PART-TIME COUNTRY"!' to which I offered a possible answer to your question regarding 'Explain how it is "part-time" country'.

Then I suggest you both listen to the station. Nothing NOW about it. As it's Country LEGENDS.

Thank you for the invitation to listen to Hank FM; However, I believe you completely missed my point. The post and my comment has nothing to do with my musical taste nor does it have anything to do with my opinion, good, bad or indifferent regarding the station. It isn't necessary for me to listen to the station for me to form a general idea of what I believe DXDXDX meant from his or her statement. As I have previously stated, I was expounding upon what was written and what was asked and, as a professional courtesy, I answered your question to the best of my belief by offering my opinion of what was meant based on what I believed DXDXDX was infering from the original post. However, DXDXDX is the final authority on what he or she actually meant.

On the other hand, it's GREAT to hear from you that Hank FM plays the real country legends. If I am ever the the mood to listen to that particular type music, Hank FM 101.7 will be the first station I'll tune-in for the classic country favorites.
