Mark Chesnutt "Savin' The HOnky Tonk" is a new album that takes a turn for a more Country sound (versus the watered-down drivel that is standard today).
Another fine album to which the title "Solid Gold" would be an understatement is one from George Jones, "Hits I missed and one I didn't..." Like good bourbon, the voice of George Jones just gets finer with age.
Several good artists have released new albums. Even Johnny Cash released before he died. Then there's Ricky Skaggs, Loretta Lynn.
But will you hear it on your so-called "Country" stations? Probably not. There is too much invested in singers who sing meaningless lyrics to loud electric guitars.
There appears to be a lot of Good new Country is out there, it just has to be played.
Honor Thy Music folks.... because there are a lot of singers and DJ's who will not be going to Hillbilly heaven.
