New CP applications

KIOZ wishing to add a translator to fill in Mission Valley, 10 watts, @Qualcomm Stadium.Their high-gain(shared) Soledad array basically sends little power to close-in, low lying areas, like Msn. Valley.
KCEO, wants to beam 10kw towards the O.C. coastline, minimizing San Diego's signal. AM 1000 is now competing in the market with another Catholic(although Spanish) outlet, KNSN (El Sembrador) and there is only so many radio donors to go around.

Good for Doug Sherman and IHR. I have no problem if KCEO wanted to use 50 KW daytime to cover Orange County. KOMO " The Lazy K " makes it impossible to increase night-time power at all. I have always liked hearing KOMO at night in the LA-OC area -- long before I worked for Fishers Blend (KOMO) back in the 1970's. KOMO has a 3 tower system on Vashon Island - in the south puget sound.

KCEO looks like it will cover more of Camp Pendleton than any of South Orange County.

Night time coverage on 1000 KHZ is made poor by the 50 KW + ?? signal from South of the Border --in Mexico. The two over-lapping signals of Mexico and KOMO in the Orange County area -- causes some older AM car stereo radios to "see" a false Stereo light. Some radios even switch back in forth between mono and stereo.

Additional application for early testing of KIOZ booster @QualComm stadium=
