Got a few new CPs issued by the FCC within last week or two figured you all would want to note and two I got questions on:
WPRF 94.9 has gone from being a 14kw c3 to a 50kw c2... Only problem? They will be moving the tower to Lafourche Parish (to the town of St. Charles Community between Raceland and Thibodaux instead of St. Charles Parish). Issued on the 7th
Does this mean a possible change of COL or at least programming not aimed at NOLA (like Praise is) now?
KNOU 104.5 got a OK to increase power to 20 kw but gives up 120 meters to do it (or roughly a drop from 850 feet at 7.8kw to 425 feet at 20 kw) with estimates of them loosing some slight ground in the signal wars in the 504 with the move Issued on the 6th
WYLK 94.7 gets their grant on the 7th to basically move closer to COL of Lacombe (just on the outskirts compared to having the tower near Slidell before). They drop power to 2.9kw but gain 50 meters (roughly 150 feet) in heigth. Pattern also tries to work itself away from NOLA and consentrates it on the southern part of St. Tammany Parish.
Now for two we don't know but found while digging:
KSUL is a CP issued for Port Sulphur for 91.5 by American Family Association (religious group)at 100 watts and 150 feet. Cp expires in August with a approval for a translator in Boothville/Venice on 94.9 at 19 watts and 200+feet... My guess it won't be built or AFA is going to try for an extension. But they were granted a studio waver in November (that was filed for in January 05)
WPDD is a CP issued to a Broadcasting For the Challenged, Inc. for 91.1 which is a company with a Memphis address and a George Flinn Jr in charge. He has other commercial properties in the US (including gospel and country) but CPs with this name have on a few occasions wound up being transferred to EMF foundation (Better known as K-Love). CP was issued October of 2004.
The rest are for class D (LPFM) apps and CPs In NOLA and Baton Rouge but these 5 are licensed as full power stations and figure some could share some light here.
