"new" dance records

Now that top 40 is giving dance songs love( the very late adds of September Cry For You and David Guetta Love Is Gone) May I suggest two songs that did great for us at Z889 and get a reaction at both of the clubs I spin at(every time I play them someone asks "Who sings this? the same way they did for the September track) Kim Leoni Again and Get Far Shinning Star.Yes they are both from last summer but so is September...I know the Leoni track would be huge!!!Maybe Plumb In Your Arms as well......Just a suggestion.

Just an opinion. Let September's "Cry For You" have its run for a bit along with David Guetta. After that, then I'd pump the Bimbo Jones remix of Plumb "In My Arms" as the next "new" track. The vocals are pretty, the remix is wicked. That song can work for CHR. Just thinking of the sound processing over at Z-100 in New York..."In My Arms" is MEANT for that station!

you're assuming that they'll play more than one or two at a time...

Not me! Far from that! :)

That's why I'm saying let September and David Guetta have their run on CHR. Once those songs have run its course, then phase in Plumb. Believe me, I'm not expecting a Z-100 or any CHR in the same caliber to go with a rhythmic format. And in their case, if these stations are running dance ads "late", then better late than never! :) Whatever can be done to get more exposure to the music.

I think that I've heard Plumb on the radio here in NYC already. The acoustic version of it on an AC station, either 102.7 or 106.7

Lite and Fresh have been playing the regular acoustic version for a bit.

Now let's get the Bimbo Jones remix on Z-100 and 'BLI! :)

Hmmm.... lets see who gets "rediscovered" next:

Edun's "Put 'Em Up"?
Flanders' "By My Side"?
Chris Lake's "Changes"?
Erika Jayne's "Stars"?
DeSouza's "Guilty"?
Bellatrax's "I Can't Help Myself"?
Bodyrox's "Yeah Yeah"?

PS: I just threw those titles out.

Let's see if 'new' dance records will include Moby's Disco Lies, Booty Luv's Some Kinda Rush, Yves La Rock's Rise Up (summer mix) or Bob Sinclar's Together gets rediscovered.
Z-100's audience would definitely eat these up....

I like posts like this! Let me start thinking like a CHR station here.... ??? Breaking them down!! (me in italics). Oh, and just my opinion.

Edun's "Put 'Em Up"?
- Why this track wasn't on CHR sooner amazes me! ABSOLUTELY!

Flanders' "By My Side"?
- I personally LOVE this track. CHR? Hmmmmmm.....

Chris Lake's "Changes"?
- I'd go with "Carry Me Away" over "Changes"

Erika Jayne's "Stars"?
- This track could work for CHR off the bat.

DeSouza's "Guilty"?
- I don't think any dance station (outside of C-89 perhaps) has introduced this track stateside.

Bellatrax's "I Can't Help Myself"?
- Sounds GREAT on Pulse 87! Though I don't know if the casual CHR listener would embrace this

Bodyrox's "Yeah Yeah"?
- I could hear this on CHR for maybe three weeks before it loses interest.

If we have to think like a CHR station, "Rise Up" may have a slight chance because of the carribean/tropical feel.
"Disco Lies" may be a bit TOO intensive, though on a station like Pulse 87, it works! I like it.
I did like "Some Kinda Rush" but if we're going to go back a bit here, "Boogie 2Nite" deserves that shot first.
Bob Sinclair's "Together"......well, "World Hold On" got out there! CHR, this is the followup!!! :)

The record that "deserves" the shot is going to be the one that proves it connects with the chr audience. That is never up to us but it sure is fun to speculate. ;)
