New deal for WTKD-AM (formerly WABB-AM) in Mobile

Details about the proposed licensee of WTKD, Eternity Records, are sketchy on the internet. I assume it is a record company. Years ago, the FCC looked looked at record company acquisitions of stations with a jaundiced eye... with the suspicion that the licensee would use the facility to promote the sale of its records without having to resort to payola, the most grievous of sins. I recall in the 60s Chess Records, then one of the major purveyors of r&b music, wanted to acquire WVON (Chicago) and format it r&b, the FCC asked a lot of questions and got all kinds of assurances before signing off on the deal. Maybe in today's dereg environment it no longer matters.

Eternity Records (I think) is a religious broadcasting group, and they hold several CP's from the last auction.

They appear to be based in Laurel, MS. From what I could gather from the sparse website, it seems nothing more than a husband running a record company for the benefit of his gospel-singing wife. They have also acquired WXKG in Greenwood, MS and as mentioned before have a few CPs in the Mississippi River Delta region of AR/LA/MS.
