What do all you tech folks see as the pros and cons of this gadget made for those who've cut the cord?

To me, it misses the mark by having a monthly fee and only one tuner. Make it a dual tuner with no fee and access to the EPG info encoded in most DTV signals and you would have a pretty good device.

Uh, didn't Sezmi start out this way (and ultimately fail) And isn't TiVO still around and , according to Wikipedia, losing subscribers all the time:

As of October 2011, TiVo has 2 million subscribers in the US, down from a peak of 4.36 million in January 2006.

So why does anyone think this business model still works?

The monthly fee has always been what has kept me from buying TIVO, and I don't see this as being any better.
