Over the air, at least for quite a while now, they’ve just been playing PSAs. I have The Oasis on now and their last commercial break was all PSAs. I’m not sure if this is because they’re planning on dumping the subchannel, but I don’t think I’ve heard any actual advertisements over the air.
I’ll have to listen soon but I’m pretty sure in Houston Channel Q and the (now removed) KHMX subchannels is just filled with music trivia that isn’t related to music that plays there instead of ads or PSAs

Whatever Spanish station's on 92.1 sounds like they were using a phone line. LOL

Why was KHYI quiet and playing electrical transformer buzzing sounds?

I wonder why Radio One took Majic off of 97.9 HD2?
I almost wonder if this a mistake and nobody is noticing. As of today, Majic 94.5 is still IDing as “KZMJ - Gainesville / KBFB-HD2 - Dallas/Fort Worth”. On 97.9 HD2, the Majic logo is still there and the text reads “Majic 94.5”. It’s been like this for about 2 months now.

So, I spoke too soon. Just checked and Majic 94.5 is now back on 97.9 HD2, after about 2 months of it being a delayed simulcast of 97.9 The Beat. 🤷🏻‍♂️

94.1 KLNO HD3 has been off for the last few weeks. I do hear that is now being called “The Zone 94.1 HD3” now. I’m not sure if it’s been off the air for a few weeks to rebrand or what. I sent the owner a message, but haven’t heard back yet.

I noticed the website for The Zone 94.1 HD3 is gone. Their stream is no longer there and the tag is announced every so often in their current over air. The last time they switched they did the same thing. Anyone have any idea where they are going?

Did you watch a different scan? Vol was a little low (I'll check with our engineer) but KHYI was in a commercial break when he stopped on us.

I caught KHYI today in the morning tropo overtaking semi local KWLL, here in Tyler. Volume output on KHYI is set noticeably lower, compared to KWJB next door at 95.1, or KDOK two up on 95.7. Thought I'd confirm what was mentioned, as the output does not seem to be on par with your neighbors.

As much as I hate to say it because I know they read this board, KHYI and KXEZ have  never sounded good. They've always been outshined by the cedar hill stations and pretty much everyone else. There was a brief time in KXEZ's final year or two of Oldies where they finally got the audio quality perfect and it immediately went back to the graveyard after it flipped to The Possum.

I hope KHYI did away with the loud humming at least.
I did not hear that the past few times I've picked them up. Back on June 24th they were incredibly quiet but was much louder a few days after that.

We actually have made a few changes from automation software to replacing our old process with a much newer optimod processor. Loudness has been adjusted up to be where we can be within legal limits. Processor was changed out late July/ early August.

I noticed 94.1 HD 3 is off the air again. They have HD on that frequency now. Are they down for maintenance or something? I wish they’d leave it be. It’s a great station!
