New DJ on B-101

If they kept Chris McCoy in the am. drive, they wouldnt be scrambling in the marketplace
for another co-host w/Tiffany

Are they scrambling for a co-host for Tiffany? (I hadn't even heard that the current co-host is leaving.) :-\

It hardly seems like scrambling. The guy had an on-air tryout several weekends ago, on a Saturday morning with Tiffany. Yesterday, Sam said she gave her notice in April, so they've been working on this for four months.

The new guy is in place as the former co-host leaves. What scramble?

To the person who's quoting me as 'scrambling'. If Chris McCoy was still with B-101
would Layne and now Crew be with the station? By the way, how much can Jerry Lee
pay for a 'personality' coming from Milwaukee. Why did Jerry Lee and the P.D. decide
that two females on am drive would succeed.

I think there was a plan being discussed to boot all male voices from the station to create a Wall of Women. Seemed like a tremendously stupid idea to me since really, listeners don't care about the jock's gender as long as he or she is engaging and plays the music...and because Juan and Dan have become parts of listeners' lives at this point. I am 99% sure the reason for McCoy's exit was money. (The flip side, of course, is that saying Jerry Lee needs to save money is a bit like saying the Easter Bunny needs eggs.)

"Soon Yi CIV.V"...

Love the handle. Tell us, are you related to "E Gill CVI"?

Can you point to evidence that it didn't succeed? Ms. Layne clearly stated she opted not to renew her contract because she didn't want to do the commute any more (and chose not to move; people make those decisions sometimes). This isn't a "Oh my God, the bottom fell out of the ratings" situation.

Moreover, maybe it doesn't matter if the combination is two females, or a guy and a girl...just that it's a combination listeners will respond to. The speculation that all males would be removed was just that--speculation.

We're half-sisters.

I think what the original post meant was that Chris McCoy was a stable presence. He did mornings there for a long time, and was successful for his entire run. I still don't get why they didn't renew him. I guess it was money, as someone pointed out earlier in this thread. As for their new hire, i wish they would have found someone local. There are a lot of talented people out there in this area who'd be great on B. They could have even dug into their past and brought someone back (Dave Packer, Jason Lee, Donna Rowland). Or, a guy who's there now, Brian Murphy would have been great. I'm sure this new guy is good and I don't mean to disrespect him. I just wish they could have found someone who knows this area.

Thanks JaMa. It’s an honor to just be nominated. :D
