NEW DOLPHIN ANNUNCERS..A STEP BACKWARD OR A GREAT CHOICE?

I don't why the Dolphins organization would have chosen a non-play-by-play announcer in Jimmy Cefalo. He's a good sports anchor, but he's capable of just being an analyst and I don't know how I can see him do play by play. Joe Rose is a decent choice and I think he will do well, but he is just the Big Dog and can never replace the Mad Dog (mandich).

Now 790 should let Defo run pre and post game duties, add OJ Mcduffie for analysis and hopefully the new team does well, but no team that you put together could ever compare to the time when Bill Zimpfer and Jim Mandich did the broadcasts together.

I'm not really critical on the decision, I mean you definitely have a couple of homers calling the games, but Cefalo I think is no play-by-play guy. I just don't see it.

All depends on how Cef does doing PBP. Rose can handle breaking down a gameplan. I think Cef has the delivery needed, but can he master the nuances of what makes a good PBP announcer. We have no history to go by.

Seems that the choices are (a) a guy or two who sounds average but knows the intricacies of the game or (b) a guy who has cojones grandes en su voce but thinks an "end-run" needs Pepto-Bismol to cure. ;)

No brainer: go with the Average Jose's.
