New ESPN Radio ID In Hartford Area?

I just noticed the 7 PM ID while listening to the Super Bowl on WPOP-AM 1410 of Hartford: "You're listening to the Super Bowl on ESPN Radio...WPOP 1410 Hartford and WAVZ 1300 New Haven." I know Clear Channel owns both stations, but why this type of ID when the two cities are separate when it comes to radio markets? ???

At one time, there was talk of treating the two as one, that is, imaging would be station neutral except for the ID. Ads would be sold as a package including airplay on both 1410 and 1300. With all the downsizing that has taken place, perphaps WAVZ just gets all of it's audio from Hartford Now.

Fybush.com reported today that there will be a local afternoon show on both stations starting later this month.

It makes senses for Clear Channel to mention both stations for commuters driving between New Haven and Hartford.

Its only a matter of time you see 95.7 and 101.3 go together and become KC 101 and KC 95-7 "Connecticut's Hit Music Channels". Hey if Clear Channel is going to put both ESPN's together and they are downsizing it only a matter of time they put the two CHR's together. Take all good stuff from KC and put them on both as Kiss is sounding crappy since forever.
