New evening show on WZAN?

I heard it's going classic country, as a double-play with POR.

Hey, those 65-plussers have money to spend.

I know, but it's just such a pain in the a$$ waiting for the medicare reimbursements to come in.

Unfortunately, they spend the "bulk" of their "disposable" income on suppositories for when they can't go and Depends for when they can't stop going.....

Right now they're playing an endless promo loop for the exciting new line-up, debuting tomorrow. Sounds like Imus, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Phil Hendrie and some guy I don't recognize. Wow. Between these folks, Rush, Glenn Beck & Howie on 'GAN, I think we have a pretty strong argument in favor of restoring the Fairness Doctrine.

Then again, maybe they'll flip 'YNZ to a Greatest Speeches of the Reichstag format.

Well, it looks like I'll be taking 970 off my radio presets. Does this mean we are flooded with right wing radio on three AM frequencies in this market. Why not flip one to progressive talk. I sure would like to hear Stephanie Miller locally.

tried and failed......

I'm not sure Nassau even gave Air America the chance to fail. Remember, these are the same geniuses who thought ESPN Sports was the be all and end all for the market. How did that work out for them? Oh, right......

I do think AA would have had better luck if they'd given stations the opportunity to cherry pick their programs rather than forcing the entire, spotty network down their throats. But then that's probably why I'm a nuclear physicist and not a radio PD.

It's only a matter of time before "they" become "we". ::)

As irritating as I find some Espn people (both radio and tv) Fox SportsRadio (at least overnite) is light years worse.

Aren't some of these shows on WLOB? What's up with them? Anyway, thank God for my satellite radio. At least I can listen to intelligence via NPR, CBC, BBC and WRN.

WLOB new lineup includes Mike Gallagher, Neil Boortz, Lou Dobbs, and John Gibson.
Radio For Men moves to 1400, 1490 (Bob and Tom, Mike O’Meara,Lex and Terry, Adam Carolla, Loveline)--nostalgia gone

WGAN: still morning news, Beck, Rush, Howie, Levin
WZAN: Imus, Ingraham, Joe Scarborough,Hannity, Savage, Lars Larson

870 is still sports, right? (was prog talk) The website linked to them on radio-locator.com is one from 2006 calling them "The Voice" and saying something about a golden apple award.

870 and it's simulcast 1470 switched to oldies not too long ago...ESPN doesn't have a radio contract in Portland....

WZAN's website is now forwarding to this, which is saying that the hot talk will be moving to 1400/1490.

I guess that's good news for 730 WJTO!

Except for those who like to listen at night...Unfortunately WJTO is 1000 watts daytime only, although they do broadcast during the evening with a few watts of power, but only covers the immediate Bath area...doesn't reach across Casco Bay at night. The Montreal FrenchTalker on 730 booms right into Portland after dark.
But yes, the Jibguy should be getting a few more listeners, and he already does surprisingly well for an AMer in the Portland and Lewiston/Auburn area according to the latest ratings!! And WJTO features a much better variety of music, and it's LOCAL...not satellite-fed.
