New FM in New Hope/Huntsville and Pine Level/Troy

According to the FCC data base and recnet, as of May 18th of this year, a CP has been granted for a new full power FM station on 103.5 licensed for New Hope, AL with city grade coverage through all of Huntsville, AL. There is also an application to change the location of the station to improve HSV coverage that has not been granted yet, but the original application and tower location was just granted on 5/18/07. The station will be 750 watts. The owner is listed as Stroh Communications Corp. out of the Montgomery area. There are no call letters for the station yet, which is odd, but none the less it has been granted. This will force the 103.5 translator owned by Cumulus, currently simulcasting 93.3/94.1, off the air.

Also, the same owners have just been granted a CP for a new full power FM station on 97.5 licensed to Pine Level, AL with city grade in Troy, AL. The CP was granted on June 14th of this year. This station also has no call letter assignment yet. It will be 6,000 watts. I have searched for other stations owned by this company and there are none. Does anyone have any information on these stations, the owners, what format they will be, anything?

Guess I should have read that before I posted LOL. Sorry. So no one knows any definite formats yet? Isn't it strange that the stations have been granted but still have no call letters. Usually when they are granted, the grant is released with the call letters right?

The New Hope/Huntsville station looks like it will have good coverage in Madison county. I'm sure WEUP is drooling over that frequency wishing they had it to simulcast 103.1 with. I know the owners of that station were looking into options of moving 103.1 closer in to improve coverage but I guess that won't happen now. As far as the Pine Level/Troy station, coverage in Montgomery will be dismal, but Troy should get it pretty well. I'm sure they will try to aquire a translator in Montgomery when they get the station up and running.
