New FM way out west

Eagle Lake? That's surprising. I'd have thought Columbus would've gotten its own service before Eagle Lake. Good for them. I hope it doesn't become a western Houston rimshot, but I guess time will tell. Any format Jd, or are they stunting?

This should be moved to the Texas forum what does this have to do with Houston I bet people in Sealy will have hard time picking it up & people in Brookshire will not even get it. Range will mostly be 25 to 30 miles which does not even make that close to Houston

The signal should be audible in West Harris County when tropo kicks in. And its not as far as you might think; 55 miles from my Cy-Fair location. I can hear KULM when tropo is good.

Format? Was hearing weak Spanish language programming at a check a few minutes ago, but didn't stick around for an ID. Might have been something else, KYKR was blasting in on 95.1, so tropo to the east is present.

In the past 95.3 has been one of the emptiest frequencies for Houston, even when tropo was good.

Now we await the new signal on 94.9 from the site near Palacios.

I remember a pirate playing hip hop on 95.3 in Houston a few years ago.

Had to run a quick errand last night and listened to 95.3 in the car...heard three stations fighting it out: One Spanish language Pop, another Country, and the third Classic Hits. Unable to get an ID on any of them in the short time I checked. Tropo was pretty good at the time.

Columbus already has its own local station KULM-FM.

I forgot all about KULM. You are absolutely correct. I imagine KJJB is the country station, Frog. Going to Bellville tonight, so I'll check the dial and see what 95.3 yields from there.

ahh, the old KULM Polka 98.3 fighting it with KHYS Kiss 98.5 back in 1997, I was like did Kiss 98.5 go Tejano? Oh wait, that is not Spanish in am here, WTF? Then the jock came on and said Polka, I thought I went back in time to the 20s or something? really wierd.

Yep in the year 2000 in my backyard I heard the station in Sharpstown. After the new year, and Bush getting sworned in I have not heard that station since.
