New format at MJC??

I hear there's a format change coming to WMJC. Anyone else hear what I hear?
 
Talk about a dead horse. How does this thing stay afloat? From the format to the (lack of) personality.
 
WMJC makes money, they wont change anything, the same PD who I like, and does a good job has been there with worse ratings than his past pd's and they keep him..... the station makes money, thats all they want. I wonder if this rumor is true what format they will try.


Why not dig up the ghost of country 943......nahhh better leave that buried!

Starcastle, Do you work at the station? You mentioned that the station makes money 2x in the same post. You must be management there, because thats the only way someone would know if a station is making money or not.
Let me save you a posting. You'll say next that you don't work there, but i hear full stopsets on the station". My next post would be "haha you do. But full stopsets of $10 to $15 dollar commercials with bonus commercials thrown in is not making money".
 
MJC is so bad right now they have resorted to "Central Suffolk" everything to justify their existance.

This is a long long way from Magic 94.3 and WCTO, when the station was a player in this market.

NO I dont work there and NO I dont listen to full stop sets. The fact remains, WMJC has had the same PD, same jock lineup and same tired playlist for years with not so great ratings.......so what else would make them keep all the same elements? You cant tell me that the corner office would let this slide if it were not making money. What else would drive a station and its management? It has to be money!

Do you know for sure that they are selling 10-15 dollar spots, because I honestly dont, I know the rate card is a bit higher at the sister stations......on the other hand WHO CARES??

Yes, i do know they sell packages with 10-15 dollar spots, but I have to agree with you on that one. WHO CARES

Well its not like we haven't seen examples in the past where stations have made bad decisions by letting people go/ not letting people go, changing formats or keeping a stale format for too long. Never underestimate the stupidity of management. With that being said they are probably making a bit more than they did as country, but thats not saying much...
 
If they did that though, where would the Islander games go, since they are not aired on WEPN? WHLI wouldn't be an option, as they go dark at night.
 
I wonder if they will try and automate them, or actually have to pay someone to oard op the games.... ???
