New Format Flip

Good to see that i was correct about the flip! let me be one to inform you of 2 more flips before the end of the year! Anyway's let me ask this Question and hope that many of you will take the time and if you know anything about spanish radio share your opinion! Why did LA MERA MERA FAIL! is Estero Latino just to much to compete with? Or is it that Houston has so many stations in spanish that the pie just keeps getting smaller?

KLTN is hard to beat, and KROI, late in 2005, tried to go after an opening to the soft side of KLTN... and showed some strong growth. But, when in 12/25 KOVE switched to a format that is basically adult Mexican hits, and which is both adult and softer than KLTN, there was nowhere for KROI to go. They were not regional enough for the KLTN listener, and not adult enough for the KOVE listener. Backed against a wall, they folded.

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Wimberley, Texas in the hill country near Austin. I really enjoyed listening to KGSR the whole time I was there. My wife, not a radio nerd, marvelled at the variety of music. "Why can't we have a radio station like that where we live?" she asked. Indeed, a very good question.
