Birmingham New Format for W241AI 96.1?

eversince K-Love completely move to WPYA (now WKVV) 97.3 in Birmingham and now 96.1 is remain silent, also WMJJ 96.5 is now remove HD3, so there will be a new owner/format for 96.1 in Birmingham?

Its probably because the FCC is shutdown and dont want to feed 96.1 with 96.5HD3 anymore and once it reopens they are going to apply to feed 96.1 through a subchannel of 97.3fm. According FCC Data. org EMF owns 96.1 so I dont know.

96.1 will probably wind up rebroadcasting either 97.3 HD2 or HD3, so some type of CCM. There's also the possibility that since 96.5 HD3 has already been used to feed 96.1, K-Love might decide to lease W241AI to Iheart with 96.5 HD3 (or 96.5 HD2 since it's currently being unused) as the originating station. If Iheart were to assume control of 96.1, a secular format would most likely be put into place (maybe a classic country format to protect Iheart's WDXB and to compete against WZZK-FM?). Iheart is already leasing 106.5 W293CM from K-Love so an Iheart lease of 96.1 isn't out of the realm of possibility.

The FCC shutdown has nothing to do with any station being off. They just cannot make filings until it reopens, but nothing stopping them from simply changing parents now.

update: oh now K-Love still heard on 96.1, I thought they no longer available on that frequency is it?
I did hear K-Love today on 96.1 W241AI. I checked WMJJ's HD channels and all that was airing there was the HD1. So what originating station is being used to feed 96.1...?

so this means it will simulcast by wkvv 97.3 or it will broadcast by one or hd channel from wkvv 97.3?
Yes, I believe it's possible for the FM translator to be fed by WKVV/WKVV-HD1 (my mind skipped over all that when I replied earlier, lol). Right now, 96.1 is airing the primary K-Love programming, not what is currently being aired over WKVV HD-2 or HD-3. I would imagine since the programming is being duplicated on 96.1 and 97.3 that 96.1 will eventually simulcast one of the other WKVV HD channels.

According to FCCdata.org, the originating station for W241AI has been changed to WERC-FM. Here in south Shelby county, I cannot usually receive any of the HD channels for WERC-FM so no idea which, if any, of 105.5's HD channels are currently being used to feed 96.1. 96.5 HD3 which had been feeding 96.1 has been missing for a while now.
