New format for WFSB Eyewitness news now?

33.3 (or 3.3 if you wish) is now full screen, unless there's something wrong with the normal sidebar system and is down for a little while.

DJKraze, it's "3.3". There is no "33.3". The 33 doesn't exist anywhere but in the licensing of the digital signal. The digital signal is licensed to use the frequencies assigned to the old channel 33. FCC rules state that the major channel in the PSIP stream MUST be your analog channel assignment. (When you watch a DTV channel the first set of numbers are the major channel number, the second set are the minor set, i.e. 8.1, "8" is the major, "1" is the minor). So to say 33.1, is incorrect. It's 3.1, and only 3.1. If you have a much much older ATSC box that shows it as "33.1", then that box isn't mapping channels correctly and it's broken.

I know, but I see a tendency for posts here to use both, so I did. I guess now that there's so few analog stations left it might become a moot point to do so, but it's only been a week. I guess I'm a bit set in my ways, I'm still doing analog band scans, in case that near impossible DX LPTV pops up.

Yes, I know. I've seen those posts too and spoken to them about it as well. It's just one of those little factual inaccuracies that bug those of us who've done the PSIP programming before. If any of my stations channel mapping were to disappear I'd want to know about it ASAP so I can fix it in as much time.
