Was just thinking there are many shows available targeting women these days and was wondering if some stations may flip to a hybird of hot ac/celebrity talk/general talk.

Some of the shows available are:

Bob and Sherri
Matt and Ramona
Cooper Lawerence
Ryan Seacrest
Billy Bush
Love Stuff Radio
Dawnson Mcallister

Kind of like 107.9 The Link in NC? (The home of Bob & Sheri, Matt & Ramona)

I guess it would depend on the market/station situation. If someone is daring enough to try it...

yeah i was thinking of the link but with more celebrity/entertainment stuff. Just seems like there are so many new shows popping up now from coast to coast. Another one I just thought of is Your time with Kim that launched this week.

yeah i was thinking of mostly talk but with a good dose of music thrown in as well. I think with some big time names like Ryan Seacrest the station might be a stop for females who want a dose of hit music, celebrity dish, and an outlet to voice their opinions. With the markets so saturated with lite fm, fresh fm, jack this bob that, something like this might be enough to let a station stand out in a crowded pack.

Isn't this kind of what they tried with "Blink 102.7" in NYC a few years ago? I thought it was a pretty cool sounding station, but it was a huge flop.

Btw, "Cosmo Radio" on Sirius has a format similar to what you are talking about. (CHR and Hot AC music with celebrity talk and call in topics aimed at 20 & 30 something females.)

Probably heavily dependent on your market situation. Are you trying to attract a niche audience, or mass-appeal?

Doing "The Link" format is going to cume a HUGE number of women. It could possibly run a lot of men off, IMO :)
