New Format In My Zune and Ipod!

I know this may sound silly, but I have playlists in my Ipod that each have and stick to a certain format. With exception to the dance leaning top 40 Jamsession playlist, they all turned out to be rhythmic leaning because that's what I tend to desire most, but two songs that continue to be my favorite at the moment are "black & gold" by Sam Sparro and "can't speak french" by Girls Aloud.

I was wondering if anyone would find "can't speak french" and "black & gold acceptable in an r&b/pop leaning rhythmic format?

____________________________________________________________________________________________
THIS IS STRICTLY FOR YOUR READING PLEASURE. IF YOU'RE BORED OR FEELING CREATIVELY WACKY, READ ON:
Just in case people are wondering, here are the playlists and formats:

1. Hott Vibez -
Rhythmic Leaning Top 40 (all my top & most favorite pop, r&b, alternative, and dance songs at the moment. Drifts back & forth from leaning in certain directions, based on my preferences at the time. Good for on-the go and quick listening periods due to a shorter playlist and lack of any extra "alright sounding fillers". No mixes. No more than 60-80 songs max.)

2, Jamsession -
Dance leaning top 40 (my fav's in top 40 style music with a good amount of dance and current freestyle hits. Also includes a few recurrents and a few songs I didn't like enough to put in Hott Vibez, and dance, pop, breaks, and bass remix mixshows).

3. hottjamz -
Rhythmic, Party Station Sound (my fav's in rhythmic pop, hip hop, and r&b/urban leaning pop radio and non radio hits with urban/hip hop influenced dance hits. Mixshows are r&b, hip hop, and rhythmic top 40 hit remixes (electro bass, house, bassline, booty bass) mixed up. Some reggaeton and r&b/dance styled latin hits and urban sounding u.k. house/garage. few recurrents, and songs I didn't like enough to put in K-Soundz Express.)

4. K-Soundz Express -
brand new Rhythmic (all my top & most favorite rhythmic sounding hits, similar to Hott Vibez, but with no alternative, rock, or heavy dance at any time. Mostly r&b and pop style hits, and urban sounding dance hits. good for quick, on-the-go rhythmic listening, whenever I have a quick free moment and don't want to sit through or waste time scrolling through anything else but rhythmic beats. No mixes. No more than 80-100 songs max.)

Club KDM Express (or Rhythm Nation in Zune) is where all the various dance styles are and Hott Talkpickz is where my talk radio podcasts are. Mixshows are in Club KDM

Don't worry, I didn't think of all this at once - it took me about 8 months to get everything perfected the way I like, and both my Zune and Ipod are identical in music playlists! (with exception to my Ipod having a MUCH MUCH WIDER dance variety in the dance playlist). I Seemingly add new music or edit something on a daily basis, if the chance becomes available.

Since my Ipod battery cannot handle the mass amount of music in it, the Zune is for listening while out (long battery life) and even travelling, while the Ipod stays home, plugged in, and remains connected to the stereo. (They BOTH go with me when I travel.)

Most people would say this is ridiculous, but since day one, I couldn't help but to keep a format in every playlist I create, and can never just fill with just random songs and be satisfied - even if they are my favorites! Not only that, but I'm also never satisfied with the feel of things until I get it precisely the way I want! Always trying to decide if and why a certain song should go where and if I like it enough to add to all or some lists.. Call me crazy, but I've always been over-adventurous and detailistic since childhood in everything I did that I had a fascination with, and was even formatic, back in 1997 when I was younger and  still using cassettes, pretending to be "the new Hot 98.1 KCCI" with my commercials and amber alerts, battle of the jams at school when I had people vote.... and everything! Right now I'm even trying to decide if I want Craig David's Insomnia in K-Soundz!

I dont know the Cant speak French song, but our semi local WBOW B-102.7 Terre Haute indiana played Sam Sparrow Black n gold over the summer with some success,,, but yet they play 90s dance too, like livin joy-Dreamer, and Corona-Rhythm of the night, and Haddawy-What is love... but this market had stations supporting dance when these songs came out.

I tested black and gold when I was still on Legal FM radio back in September and it bomber for us, while other dance songs have faired well there... Black n Gold is an OK song,,, but its more for Pure Dance, or hot AC,, maybe Rhythmic AC... I dont think it would work at CHR or Rhythmic, maybe a true urban, or Urban AC,,, but the kids arent hip to it..

On my Ipod,,, I have the same thing.. I have Rock-Top 40... mix of mostly current modern Rock with some Pop hip hop and dance

Hot Hits-- only the hottest hits in POP Rock Hip hop on the U.S charts.

Rhythmic Hits--- Hip Hop lean,,, R&B,,, Breaks-Remixes....Freestyle... Rhythmic pop,,, some current Dance...

Pure Dance.... Sky is the limit... house, trance,, Garage... Drum N Bass.... Jumpstyle..... Both U.S and European Style

Hip Hop RAW... Pure Hip Hop Unedited for the thuggers out there

House Vibes... truly Deep Soulful and Electro and funky house.

You're doing better than me. All my playlists are a bit similar to the other, but then again, look at where I live and how the stations are here!

I need to fix up my Backa Backa Jamz playlist, which is all my top favorite hits from back in the day and anything today that I know is solid to my listening pleasures that I know I'll listen to for years. Songs from Eminem, UB40, Fine Young Canables, Peter Gabriel, Real McCoy, Queen Pen, Janet, Madonna, Dr Dre, Amber, Gin Blossoms, New Order etc will soon be added in.

I also have playlists on Jango www.Jango.com / http://www.jango.com/profiles/4486?l=0
A social networking site where you create radio stations and people add you based on your taste on music. You can listen to other's stations, they can listen to yours, leave comments, messages...etc. This girl from New York who loves house referred me to it about a year and a half ago. I guess she makes money off of this somehow. Of course I gained a whole bunch of friends, due to the fact I have so many playlists for each genre that I possibly show up as a recommendation on just about every song people play. DIRECT LINK TO MY PROFILE: http://www.jango.com/profiles/4486?l=0 Although I'm not sure how the link will work or where it would go if you're not logged in. I just logged in and "In a dream" popped on by Rockell in Jamsession. It's not the same as my Ipod - my Ipod is mostly all currents for now. A perfected Backa Backa Jamz is there, too. LOTS of forgotten, unexpected past hits!

HMM I may be interested in something like that,, maybe I could refer my girl to there and slowly pull her away from myspace... 1club.fm and My yearbook,,, I dont like other guys hitting on her and knowing where she lives... I dont mind her having casual friends, but when they are sending each other Hugs n Kisses and secret admires and all that,,, it ticks me off.... I wouldnt mind her being friends with guys that dont pose a threat.... 1club.fm has great music stations, but their chat rooms and social networks are full of perves, hoe's and hate mongers trying to break us up...

I forgot to tell ya I got a Rock 40 format too.... Modern Active Rock leaning CHR with some POP Hip Hop and dance.

I run my songs through Sound Solution to make them sound processed before loading them on my iPod. Then I generate playlists off an automation software to keep a format and rotation. I want to hear Power hits very often, I want to hear Gold not so often. I have several "formats" on my iPod: Dance (I make it sound just like Pulse 87), Club (like a mixshow), Rhythmic (CHR/Rhythmic), Party (combination of Rhythmic and Dance like Party 105), Pop (CHR/Pop), Oldies (This one is just all my 50s-80s oldies played in shuffle), Rock (alternative), AC.
Putting my iPod on shuffle will sound weird, with a dance hit followed by doo wop, followed by rock, etc. When I'm in the mood for a certain type of music, I only want to hear that type.
Am I the only one who programs my iPod like a cluster of stations? I generate playlists of about 200 songs for each format that's current-based, and update them every other week (it's as easy as changing the rotation category of some songs based on the charts and my preference, and generating a new playlist). It really doesn't take much time to do it. I can't deal with having golds and recurrents play equally as much as powers, which is what a playlist on shuffle will do.
Only thing missing is crossfading and imaging.
