New format

Primarily 1350 AM in Cabot.

Especially so since they were just purchased recently.

The format to air would be Classic Country/Full Service. Be "THE" local radio station in covering news, high school sports, Tradioline/Swap 'n Shop, obits, etc.

Plus, other than the Bryant FM doing Classic Country; the area could use a format such as this or consider doing religious. Religion pays.

***Somehow I screwed this up. The following is mine, not from Radioboss. Sorry, RB***

This would work unless you've only got "parking lot" power at night. That kinda kills your sports coverage. I think I would go local talk as much as possible with all the local personalities I could get...Tradio, Obits, for sure, but also the Mayor's Corner, AgWatch, Gardening, Local Real Estate, Coaches/Superintendents Shows, fill in with religious programs and church services (bought and paid for), then network News/talk. It's the local programs that sell, either sponsored or bought as blocks, on AM (in my humble opinion).

I believe your best bet would be to become the local Cabot station. Since the station was previously programmed out of Searcy, very few in Cabot realize they have their own radio station. This is a chance to make it a truly 'local' station that serves Cabot. Forget about the Little Rock stations. You need to work on the station's image by setting up studios in a storefront location in a good area of Cabot's business district. Let people see that they have a local station. As for formats, give the community a good news/talk format like FOX News Radio, but let it be the filler and not 24/7. Get local businesses involved in the programming by presenting a flower/garden show hosted by a local florist, get a local reputable auto mechanic to host a show on car care, etc. Let the high school have a once a week update show featuring students and what's going on at the high school. Do all the high school sports you can and get the support of the local business community. Carry services on Sunday mornings from local churches. Have a presence at communtiy events get exposure by being the local media sponsor. Have a local morning show that features information about the community with guests from the area. Realize that your not going to get money from big business, they have agencies and that money goes, in most cases, to Arbitron rated stations. Your money will come from offering local businesses a good local product at reasonable prices. Your daytime signal is respectable, but night time only covers Cabot. That's fine! You're reaching the community you serve. You still can do high school sports and reach your service area. Plus, you can add listeners for high school sports by streaming them on the Internet. Focus on what's needed in Cabot...a radio station that serves the community.

That's what I'd do. Whatever you decide...Good Luck!
