New Format

Very nice format - deserves some decent FM outlets in major and medium markets, in my opinion. I'm glad for the occasional "instrumental" number mixed into each hour - makes the vocals stand out and adds a nice touch. Perhaps some more mainstream and "crossover" jazz, like Wynton Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Pat Metheney, etc. would fit, too, and provide a sort of bridge from the smooth jazz stations that are giving up on that format. If it fits sonically with the mood, I say play it! And daypart a slower tempo at night to make it sound really cool.

Is it airing anywhere on terrestrial radio yet?

Way too niche...we need more aerosmith and tool

Old format. Emmis did it in Saint Louis on 104.1 before selling off to Radio One

Las Vegas, likely, Florida where older 35-64 individuals go to retire, already in place, San Franscisco, maybe anywhere else, no.

It's on O&Oed stations in its home state here Wisconsin and Chicago

I was a huge fan of the Red 104 stream. The "Timeless Cool" format is similar but not identical to Red. The guy who created Red has a recent post on the Chicago board explaining what its incarnation is now. Yeah, I fall squarely in the 35-64 demo, and I just like to hear (what I feel is) good music on the radio. It's not for everyone. Neither is Aerosmith and Tool.
