New formats for 99X and Q100?

I am going out on a limb here.I heard about the mass firings at 99X/Q100 because of the Cumulus take over on Friday. Everybody in range from the GM to the traffic gal canned. I am wondering......are WNNX and WWWQ about to get new formats?I would think that Cumulus (if they were smart, which everyone knows they are not) would can 99X and move Q100 to 99.7. 99X's glory days are gone (as well as most of the people who made the station what it is), and Q100 has potential as a full-range CHR. However, Q100 has been stuck on an inferior 12.5kW stick (compared to 9X's 100kW), thus hindering Q100's growth. Stick the CHR on 99.7 and bring in a really cheap format (Jack) on 100.5.I have a feeling that within a few weeks (yes, weeks), we might be saying hello to Q99 and 100.5 Jack FM.Although from what I heard, Cumulus is very unpredicatable, so be open to any surprises.

Uhh..don't you think they would have fired the program directors and on air staffs if that was going to happen? Mark my words..no format changes in the near future...just cheaper generic versions of the current stations.

Exactly. Besides, 90's will be back soon and 99X can ride the 90's wave and then tweak. ;D ;)

I'm hearing 99x flips to "Country Rock." A mix of rock, AND contemporary country, with jocks that can actually get a little edgy at times.

you write:>> no format changes in the near future...just cheaper generic versions of the current stations._________________________________________________________________________________Why cheaper generic versions of the current stations? You mean Susquehanna DIDN'T like to make money? Wow all these years Susquehanna was blowing all that money, what were they thinking! Just think how much greater 99X could have been in the 1990s if Susquehanna had spent less money on building there product. Will someone tell Cumulus they're in market 10, not market 100? Hello?!?

Leslie is versatile enough to work in any format. They just got rid of the MD and cut the staff down a lot. Anything could happen.

If Q moved to 99.7, they could keep the "Q-100" name.
Maybe if it were 1986 instead of 2006.
