Do you happen to know if they will have websites and/or streaming so I can check these new stations in the beautiful city of Denver out from New Mexico?

No idea of websites as of yet. Once that info is known, I will let you know.

I'm about 90% sure that Martini 101.5 will steal Adult Standards fans away from Studio 1430 KEZW because the former is an FM station with hi-fi FM stereo while the latter is an AM station with lo-fi AM mono. Time will tell which station will win the Adult Standards war.
______________

Up here in the North, I can't even pick up 107.1 at all. I thought I would be able to and I can somewhat get 101.5 in.
But so far 101.5 sounds good. .
______________

Denver Radio Company Debuts Two New Stations

Martini and Sassy
The DENVER RADIO COMPANY launched two new FM formats -- KTNI (101.5 MARTINI ON THE ROCKIES) and KSYY (SASSY 107) -- in the DENVER metro market today (3/22) at 6a.

"MARTINI ON THE ROCKIES" features a lifestyle format with a music blend of contemporary artists lIKE NORAH JONES, SARAH MCLAUCHLAN and SHERYL CROW, mixed with original offerings from LINDA EDER, DIANA KRALL, and MICHAEL BUBLE. The format includes a sprinkling of standard covers from HARRY CONNICK JR., ROD STEWART, LINDA RONSTADT, BETTE MIDLER and an occasional original from FRANK, DEAN, or TONY.

"SASSY," on the other hand, will target active adult women by offering a bright presentation with a musical blend from artists like CAROLE KING, CARLY SIMON, CARPENTERS, JAMES TAYLOR, AMERICA, and CHICAGO.

DENVER RADIO COMPANY President and Market Manager STEVE KEENEY said, "We could not resist the formats we’re calling 'MARTINI' and 'SASSY' as each is original in both content and music and fit perfectly into the discerning DENVER lifestyle. Plus, we believe they represent lots of fun for both our listeners and our staff."

Added Dir./Operations & Programming Entertainment TIM MARANVILLE, "It’s time for a little shakin’ and sassin’ in COLORADO." These two very unique formats created exclusively for DENVER are specifically designed to satisfy an unfulfilled audience need."

Here's how the lineups shake out:

KTNI

2-6p -- JACKIE SELBY (formerly KXPK, and KALC)

From the descriptions it sounds like these two stations overlap a good amount musically. I was hoping for a little more variety. These two stations could proably be one format. But hey, at least its not Hot AC or classic rock. And they have live local DJs.

Interesting. Two unique stations.

BTW KTNI will be the second station to take the Martini monkier after WMTI/New Orleans. Here's their website www.martini1061.com

And this is the company that is going to own the ABC Radio Stations in the coming year. I shudder at the very thought! Scary thought to say the least!

KTNI's website is coming soon (http://www.martini1015.com/). I assume KSYY's website will launch at the same time, though I haven't an idea as to what their exact domain name will be (most likely it'll be sassy107.com since they're the only ones I know of using that moniker).

Just FYI :)

Cheers :)

I can't get either station here in South Central Denver. I'm just a mile or so from Downtown and up 8 floors and STILL can't get them. Too much RF junk in the way. :(

Then again, I've got a crappy stereo that receives EVERYTHING. Being the Ham that I am, I'll see if (of all things!) my Ham Radio can pick them up. :)

Cheers :)

Could've fooled me. I'm able to get them with my little portable radio outside the building (albeit just BARELY!) and I'm hearing LATIN. WTF? Really strange.

Either that or I'm getting RF interference from either 92.1, 95.7 or 96.5

> 107.1 KSYY will be "Sassy 107" - a AC format to go against

Now this station seems to be more on target with its format, though it's sounding more like what Jammin' 92.5 used to be. Perhaps it's just the playlist I'm hearing?

Cheers :)
