new FOX 5 graphics

Has anyone seen the update to the FOX 5 logo, news set, and graphics?

I'm pretty impressed, everything looks very professional, including the news set and background of the city skyline. Gone are all those flashy graphics. Everything looks more colorful and vibrant and clean!

For those who can't see the station, the graphics are very similar to that of FOX News, but better. The FOX 5 Weather Authority desk also resembles something from FOX News channel. Seems like this sets the trend for other FOX O&O stations to adopt the FOX News style.

P.S. I forgot to say that the music is like what you hear on FOX News. They're definitely taking the "branding" of all FOX operations to a whole new level.

The logo looks like something out of the early days of Fox 5. Here's a comparison:

I have to say, I'm impressed. I saw last night's newscast, and I love the new look. While I do miss the newscast themes from the WNEW-TV days, I like this one the best. Let's hope FOX 5 sticks with this look.

I'm impressed.
The "5" reminds me of one of the "5" logos that WNEW-TV used when it was owned
by (as I recall) Metropolitan Broadcasting or "early" Metromedia.

Still...in comparison to what Fox had before (that rectangular box with Fox on the white background with the white "5" covered in red to the right, this is an improvement.

An even better comparison with logos of days gone by:

Basically they've merged the 1982 logo with the 1989 logo. I like it a lot.

I wonder if any other FOX O&Os plan to do something similar. Nothing changed at KTTV yet.<P ID="signature">______________

The bug they are using on syndicated programming is quite bad, as it isn't transparent.

It seems like the station is hit or miss with it. I've caught them running the transparent bug most of the time at night - after the 10 o'clock news ends.

But throughout most of the day, they either show the red-white-blue bug for the first 30 seconds of a program, or nothing at all.
