after researching on the FCC website, I was surprised to find that this frequency has 8 interested applicants. I have also included bidding credit percentage and FRN
(00%)* Vermont Broadcast Associats - 0003647906 1 Permit
* does that Mean VPR has not put any money toward the Auction?*
(35%) Ann, Brueggman 0020418794 - 100 different Permits
(35%) Grey, James P 0011303013 - 96 different permits
(00%) Kona Coast Radio, LLC 0011337292 - 108 different permits
(35%) Panther Communications LLC 0020573945 - 133 different permits

(00%) Vertical Resources LLC 0020574992 -21 Permits

Note to Moderator, I was a bit concerned about adding names of people however, these are the names with the FCC public file please edit if necessary.

If I had 100,000 dollars financially to spare I'd Buy this frequency in a heartbeat

Vermont Broadcast Associates is not VPR, it's Bruce James' company (owners of Kixx, Magic and WSTJ). I presume if they won this they'd use it to simulcast one of their existing stations. The allocation is pretty worthless otherwise. Albany is as close to middle-of-nowhere as you can get, and a Class A located there will have more cows than humans in its coverage area.

Which is exactly what VBA does with 100.3 Barton, which last I knew was simulcasting WGMT

Any know if any of the applicants have an interest in any other group/station in the area?

Jamie. Jamie! JAMIE!!

Are you there?? You'd spend $100k on this allocation, then spend another $250k minimum getting it on the air, then spend $30k per month minimum... for WHAT?

Wake up and stop dreaming before you hurt yourself, my friend.

Jamie, the "bidding credit" is a discount the FCC grants to minorities and new entrants - if you already have broadcast interests, you don't get the credit. So let's say VBA bids $100,000 and you bid $110,000. VBA would have to pay the entire $100,000 if it won...but since you'd be a "new entrant," you'd only actually have to pay $71,000 ($110,000 less 35%) if you won. Not that 94.5A Albany would be worth even that...

Thanks for the feedback and the correction that VBA is Not VPR! you guys are right the cost's would out beat the profits.

94.5 is such a dead frequency in that area that I can get WCYY on 94.3 and WJMN 94.5 south of sheffield heights and through all of Mt. Washington Valley as you do WWLR, over time could you change the COL to "sheffield heights"?
within Albany VT and surrounding areas if the station were moved only include
W234BD 94.7 FM a low power in Burlington, CITE-2 on 94.5 and CKMF on 94.3 which comes in clear as a bell north of Sheffield heights.

94.5 WJMN from downtown boston comes in parts around the area on my car and outdoor antenna 104.1 WBCN always came in stronger... I ski up at Jay Peak all the time. you are all right about the city grade signal part but the out of range would be amazing. I have met Bruce in the Past. I actually wanted WGMT but it is more important to finish with school and a Bachelors in Media studies for May the closest I can get to an FM Degree.
100.3 is the simulcast for WGMT. the online radio stream confirms this.
as far as I know, Barry has reached his cap for station with WLTN-FM, WLTN-AM, WOTX, WMOU, WKDR and WXXS
I was hoping that WGLY 102.3 Champlain Group would syndicate their active rock for the NEK since the mighty 91.5 WWLR has lost its "Rock touch" many who live in this area wish they could get WGLY the wire I have heard northing but very good feedback for when locals from the NEK drive to Burlington on trips

I guess wait and see what happens

*wanted to work for WGMT* edited for Grammer.

I am aware I have a few spelling and Grammar errors in my last post Its Thirsty Thursday ::) my apologies. I missed the time limit

I am shocked to find Vertical Resources and Bruce (VBA) are fightning this one out $50,000 current bid on round 12! this makes the auction from 2 years ago same frequency and area sound like a bargain with the original price tag of $30,000.

Fybush.com as well as my friend up there told me it got sold for $108,000 to Bruce James who I know personally. estimates are that it will take 3 years to build. I have been away from the bidding since I am graduating in 1 more week. after 7 long years. if your in the radio industry you know that 7 years is about average for us lol ;)
